With the onset of cuddling weather (i.e. colder weather and longer nights) I have taken to obsessing over knit blankets. They are like sweaters - but better!
via |
So far, my obsession has included drooling over pinterest photos and smooshing knit blankets at Pottery Barn.I may however have to take my obsession a bit further and re-learn how to knit.

Yes, I will be knitting my own throw blanket because spending $100 on one just seems a tad bit extravagant.

Although, I completely understand why someone would. I mean, look at how soft and warm and cuddly that blanket looks!

I think a knit blanket adds the perfect touch of texture and warmth necessary when preparing for winter.

So now I just need to decide on a color. What do you think? A rich brown? A neutral oatmeal? A festive berry red? A deep blue? Olive green?

Oh yeah...and learn how to make a cable knit blanket.

I love that second one. It looks incredibly comfy. I just bought a couple of new throws last week. They aren't as thick, but in South Florida, I think I would melt with something so hot.
I scored a cable knit throw in GREY this summer at MEIJERS. It was a mere $7.00 and I got two matching pillows for less than that! It completes my fall decor in the cozy living room. LOVE LOVE LOVE cable knit throws.
I love that apple green throw, but the oatmeal ones look the coziest.
I'll take an oatmeal, apple, and taupe please. :o)
I tried to learn how to knit once. It wasn't pretty. My hands won't work as a team. It's like they hate each other.
I was able to crochet, but never learned how to read a pattern, so there were a lot of scarves and a baby blanket born. :o)
those are each beautiful!!! they make me want to sit by a warm fire, drink hot chocolate and watch a good movie!!
